The Port of Hueneme has introduced its second emissions capture barge, STAX 6, developed by STAX Engineering as part of its ZE2030 roadmap to become the nation’s first zero-emissions port by 2030. With two barges now in operation, all commercial terminals at the port are served by STAX’s technology, which captures ship exhaust without retrofitting and removes 99% of particulate matter and 95% of nitrogen oxides. This mobile solution, powered by renewable diesel, was implemented following damage to the port’s shoreside power system and reinforces Hueneme’s commitment to environmentally responsible operations.
