Canada’s first low-carbon, enhanced efficiency fertilizer (EEF) and phosphate terminal officially broke ground on July 29 in Edwardsburgh Cardinal, Ontario. Led by V6 Agronomy in partnership with the Port of Johnstown, the facility will reduce reliance on US phosphate imports and improve food security through a vessel-rail turnkey logistics model that serves farms across Canada. The first of four planned buildings will support vessel discharge capacity up to 18,000 tonnes and store up to 150,000 tonnes of crop input materials on-site. Construction is now underway, with V6 seeking strategic investment to expand national distribution.
