The Canadian Chamber of Commerce has issued an open letter urging the Prime Minister to work on economic issues. The letter notes that their members were disappointed that the recent election did not provide a more substantive discussion about the challenges and opportunities facing our economy. The domestic and international challenges that faced Canada’s economy at the beginning of the election campaign continue today and need urgent attention. The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is urging the government to focus on re-skilling and up-skilling our workforce, attracting immigration into rural areas, supporting the extension of high-speed broadband access for everyone, and ensuring Indigenous peoples can participate fully in our workplaces and in the economy in general.
