Four individuals were safely rescued near Little Beach on April 12, 2025, after their rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB) punctured a pontoon, forcing them to seek refuge on nearby rocks. The Canadian Coast Guard Ship Cape McKay, dispatched from the Bamfield Coast Guard Station, responded swiftly following an alert from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Victoria. The stranded passengers were located and brought to safety without injury, and the damaged vessel was recovered. The incident was captured by local videographer Geoff Johnson of Ukee Tube, who was filming nearby and shared photos after confirming the rescue’s successful outcome.
