The Haisla Nation-owned Cedar Liquefied Natural Gas Project (Cedar LNG) has triggered a 180-day review by filing a completed application with the BC Environmental Assessment Office for its C$3 billion plan to export 400 MMcf/d of liquefied gas from a proposed floating LNG facility that will operate directly across the Douglas Channel from Kitimaat Village.  In addition, Cedar LNG has announced an agreement with Black & Veatch and Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for the front-end engineering and design (FEED) of the Project’s proposed floating liquefaction, storage, and offloading unit (the “FLNG”).  Cedar LNG expects to make a final investment decision in 2023 following completion of the environmental assessment.  Provided all regulatory approvals are received, in-service is set for 2027.
