CMA CGM Group has announced a $20 billion investment to expand US maritime, logistics, and supply chain infrastructure over the next four years, creating 10,000 jobs and increasing APL’s US-flagged fleet from 10 to 30 ships. The plan includes port upgrades in major cities, a Chicago air cargo hub, and a Boston R&D centre. Announced amid President Trump’s push for US shipbuilding and new tariffs on Chinese-built ships, CMA CGM has warned that the proposed fees could disrupt global shipping. The company continues expanding in the US, recently acquiring two container terminals in New York and New Jersey.
