In 2022 the Chamber of Shipping applied and received funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada to support our research on vessel transits in British Columbia waters.  The purpose of our research was to identify opportunities to better understand why some vessels appear to be making extra transits per port call.  The research is focussed on a single commodity group and the supply chain and vessel operations that support that trade. The findings include the need to review current port policies on anchorage allocations and restrictions, bunkering practices, and commercial practices.
