Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager, Marine Personnel is responsible for all training and career progression plans for marine personnel, as well as crewing and personnel issues pertinent to the Company’s seagoing personnel. The Assistant Manager acts as the back-up Manager for the department, indirectly supervises department personnel, advocates for marine personnel while balancing the business needs and attends meetings and negotiations on behalf of the Manager. This is a 12-month limited term contract position.

Qualification Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related subject area such as business administration, human resources or marine operations.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Human Resources, Finance, or in an Operations leadership capacity including at least two years of marine industry experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience in and in-depth understanding of the interpretation of union collective agreements.
  • Experience in the negotiations process is considered an asset.
