Equipment Control Representative

COSCO SHIPPING is one of the major ocean carriers in the world. COSCO SHIPPING Lines (Canada) Inc. (headquarter) is located at downtown Vancouver, Suite 2288 – 1055 Dunsmuir Street, Vancouver, BC V7X 1K8. We have an opportunity for an Equipment Control Representative who will be responsible for assisting team members in our equipment department in the Vancouver office.

This is an entry level, full time union excluded position based on 37.5 hours per week in our Equipment Control and Supply Chain Department.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with vendor invoice and repair estimate tracking
• Assist with container inventory reporting
• Prepare Customs manifests for empty containers
• Monitor system for event rejections and assist to clear errors
• Rail billing empty containers
• Assist with vacation coverage within ECD Department
• Assist with other ECD duties as required
• Assist other ECD team members when required

 Skills/ Requirements

• Junior College degree or higher
• Work experience in Container Shipping/Freight Forwarding preferred
• Attention to details
• Good with mathematical calculations
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work well under pressure in fast paced environment and competent in multi-tasking
• Good team player and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and can adapt to new and different web-based systems easily
• Open and willing to learn new tasks
