Chantier Davie Canada Inc. has partnered with Florida-based Pearlson & Pearlson Inc. and Quebec’s Construction Dinamo Inc. to modernize its Lévis facility, aligning with Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) and the Icebreaker Collaboration Effort (ICE Pact). The upgrades will support the construction of seven heavy icebreakers and two hybrid ferries, making the facility North America’s largest and most advanced shipbuilding center. The $840 million project, supported by $519 million from the Québec government, includes state-of-the-art buildings, waterfront upgrades, and advanced equipment to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and Arctic mission capabilities. Upon completion, it will create hundreds of jobs and expand Davie’s workforce to 1,800, driving economic growth while supporting environmentally friendly shipbuilding practices.
