Duke Point Transload Ltd (DPTL) has officially rebranded as Sarlequun Logistics (SLL), marking a significant partnership with Petroglyph Development Corporation (PDG), the business arm of Snuneymuxw First Nation (SFN). This transformation reflects a commitment to honouring Snuneymuxw culture, particularly the Sarlequun Snuneymuxw Treaty of 1854 at Duke Point. Sarlequun, meaning “a grassy place,” holds historical and cultural importance as a former village site within SFN’s unceded territory, now part of Nanaimo. The rebranding includes a new logo, website, and marketing materials, blending traditional Coast Salish art with modern logistics practices.
