Taiwanese liner Evergreen has placed orders for 23 additional container ships worth up to $1.47bn, reinforcing its multi-year fleet growth strategy. The programme includes 16 feeder vessels of about 3,100 teu at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong and seven 5,900 teu post-panamax ships at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding. The combined contracts are valued between $1.2bn and $1.47bn, depending on final pricing. The move follows a series of large orders in 2024–25, including LNG dual-fuel and ultra-large 24,000 teu vessels. Evergreen now operates around 240 ships, with more than 50 newbuildings on order, as it continues to modernize and scale its global fleet.
