The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) reported a 5-tonne bunker fuel spill off Changi during a bunkering operation between the bulk carrier INES CORRADO and a bunker tanker on Monday at 5:40 p.m. MPA’s team responded within 10 minutes, applying dispersants, and promptly suspended operations. No oil was detected by 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. A Current Buster system has been deployed as a precaution to capture any residual oil, and Malaysian authorities have been informed. Navigation remains unaffected, and MPA will conduct a full investigation. This incident follows a recent pipeline leak at Shell’s Pulau Bukom facility, releasing 30-40 tonnes of oil and water slop.
