The Galveston LNG Bunker Port (GLBP), a joint venture between Seapath Group and Pilot LNG, LLC, has become a member of the SEA-LNG coalition to support the growth of LNG as a marine fuel. Set to be the first dedicated LNG bunkering facility on the US Gulf Coast, GLBP aims to begin operations by late 2026 in Texas City, targeting the US and international LNG-fueled vessels. With an investment of about $180 million, the facility will offer a more environmentally friendly fuel option, significantly reducing CO2 emissions and eliminating SOx, NOx, and particulate matter emissions. The partnership with SEA-LNG underscores GLBP’s commitment to contributing to the maritime industry’s decarbonization efforts, with future plans to accommodate bio-LNG and e-LNG, aligning to achieve net-zero emissions in shipping.
