The GloNoise Partnership for Mitigation of Underwater Noise from Shipping has been extended until December 2026 to advance global efforts in reducing underwater radiated noise (URN) from ships. At its mid-term meeting on 15 July 2025, representatives from Lead Pilot and Twinning Countries, along with IMO and UNDP, reviewed progress and approved the extension. Member States reported initiatives including acoustic research, national URN data repositories, integration of URN into marine planning, stakeholder engagement, and regional knowledge-sharing.
