The HaiSea Wamis, a fully electric tugboat, has completed its journey from North Vancouver to Kitimat, marking the first of five HaiSea vessels to arrive at HaiSea Marine’s new base. The voyage was crewed by eight Haisla members, including three generations of the Ross family. This milestone signifies a significant development for HaiSea Marine, a partnership between the Haisla Nation and Seaspan ULC, and heralds the beginning of its operations in Kitimat. By mid-August, HaiSea will be fully operational, providing escort towing services for LNG carriers at LNG Canada’s new export facility within Haisla territory.
