Equinor and Deepak Fertilisers, an Indian fertiliser and petrochemical company, have entered into a 15-year agreement starting from 2026 for the supply of approximately 0.65 million tons of LNG annually. This agreement will utilize Equinor’s global LNG portfolio, sourced mainly from Norway and the US, to provide Deepak with the necessary feedstock for ammonia production in its new plant. This long-term partnership aims not only to support Deepak’s production of ammonia for domestic fertiliser and petrochemical uses but also to explore future collaborations on low carbon ammonia and other petrochemical feedstocks.
