The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has announced that Informatica’s Master Data Management solution has been selected to serve as the digital backbone for the West Coast Supply Chain Visibility Program that includes the Prince Rupert Port Authority and funding by Transport Canada. Informatica is an established data management provider and already serves leading transportation organizations
including all three Class 1 railways that serve the Port of Vancouver, shipping lines and cargo owners. As an early and important milestone for the program, CN and CP have each provided a three-month cut of rail event data to complete an assessment of its quality and completeness. This assessment will provide key information for how the program will integrate rail data into the data management platform. Next steps for the program will include establishing long-term direct daily rail data feeds to support the program, along with establishing similar agreements with major terminal operators and shippers.
