M/V Dietrich Oldendorff, owned by Oldendorff Carriers, is a 100,449 metric tonne Bulk Carrier with a draft of 15.04 meters, built in the year 2020 by Oshima Shipbuilding in Japan. The vessel has a Length overall (LOA) of 250 meters and a beam (breadth) of 43 meters. The vessel is often seen in the Port of Vancouver and recently loaded coal at Neptune Terminals on the North Shore of the Port, before commencing its voyage to Fangcheng, China this week.
Interestingly, the vessel is one of the 100 ‘eco’ newbuilds from Japan, S. Korea and China ordered by Oldendorff from 2014 onwards, which makes this vessel consume much less fuel, hence significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
