On Wednesday, the MSC Altair broke free from its moorings and grounded on Digby Island after being hammered by strong winds in Prince Rupert.  There were no reported injuries, pollution or cargo loss and several SAAM tugs assisted in refloating the vessel after the winds subsided.  Prince Rupert, along with the remainder of the North Coast and Haida Gwaii saw southerly winds of 90 km/h, gusting up to 110 km/h.  The vessel was assessed and has since completed operations at Fairview terminal and is underway to Yantian.
