PSA Halifax has welcomed the AMERIGO service, a new joint Mediterranean–North America route operated by CMA CGM, COSCO Shipping, OOCL, and ONE, marked by the CMA CGM AMBITION’s inaugural call on November 25. The service provides direct links between major Mediterranean ports and Canada, with onward rail access to central Canadian and U.S. Midwest markets via CN. It also strengthens Halifax’s position as a strategic cold-chain gateway, enabling rapid vessel-to-rail movement of reefer cargo such as citrus. Port leaders say the service expands choices, improves transit times, and enhances trade diversification opportunities. The LNG-powered AMBITION underscores the carriers’ commitment to more environmentally efficient shipping.
