The Government of Canada has announced new funding opportunities to help employers, organizations, and unions train workers for jobs in the low-carbon economy. A call for proposals opens today under the new Sustainable Jobs Training Fund (SJTF) with an allocated investment of just over $99 million over four years. A second call for proposals will be launched in late June this year under the Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy. These two new funding streams will support tens of thousands of workers across the country with a range of training projects to upgrade or gain new skills for jobs in the low-carbon economy.The SJTF is a new targeted fund that will support a range of training projects over a four-year period.
