A Quebec-based vessel owner has launched a new ad-hoc container feeder service along the St. Lawrence Seaway that will offer shippers an alternative to the 377-mile truck route between the Canadian ports of Hamilton and Montreal. The self-unloading container ship Sedna Desgagnés on Thursday docked at the Hamilton Container Terminal to load 350 containers destined for Montreal, according to a statement from the Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority (HOPA), which developed the service along with vessel owner Groupe Desgagnés and Hamilton Container Terminal (HCT).
