Odfjell has launched a deep-sea green shipping corridor between Brazil and Europe, using certified B24 sustainable biofuel to significantly cut emissions on its chemical tankers. The 5,000-nautical-mile route will operate 12–15 voyages annually, with each voyage lasting about 40 days. Long-term biofuel supply has been secured in Rio Grande, while the ports of Antwerp-Bruges, Rotterdam, and Rio Grande are collaborating to improve efficiency and port operations. The company is self-funding the initiative, demonstrating that low-carbon solutions are already viable without subsidies. The project supports IMO and EU decarbonization goals and builds on the Norway–Brazil agreement to advance zero-emission shipping.
