Hong Kong-based Pacific Basin Shipping is set to install Inmarsat Maritime’s NexusWave connectivity service on five of its dry bulk vessels as part of a broader digitalization and crew welfare strategy. The high-speed, fully managed service will support seamless business and crew communications through dynamic network routing and global coverage. NexusWave will also enable uninterrupted video conferencing and personal internet access for seafarers, aligning with Pacific Basin’s focus on fuel efficiency, emissions reporting, and enhanced decision-making. The service demonstrated download speeds up to 340 Mbps and network availability above 99.9%, offering long-term support for the company’s evolving digital needs.
