Talon Helicopters Ltd. has secured a seven-year contract, with an optional extension of three years, to provide helicopter hoisting services for marine pilot transfers in British Columbia’s southern coastal region. The service will commence immediately and operate 24/7 out of Vancouver International Airport using an Airbus AS365N3 Dauphin helicopter, equipped with a Goodrich hoist. This aircraft is recognized for its safety and cost-effectiveness in offshore operations. Talon has also developed several enhancements for this contract, including night vision compatible lighting and a hoist system designed for offshore use. The Pacific Pilotage Authority, which awarded the contract, emphasized that Talon’s proven safety record and experience in hoisting operations align with their priorities of pilot safety and environmental protection.
