The Port Alberni Port Authority (PAPA) has announced a transition to a Co-CEO leadership model, effective July 1, 2025, as part of its long-term succession planning strategy. Current President and CEO Zoran Knezevic will share executive leadership with Mike Carter, Vice President of Operations, who will assume the role of Co-CEO. The new structure is designed to support leadership continuity, enhance executive capacity, and ensure a seamless transfer of institutional knowledge. While Knezevic retains final decision-making authority, Carter will take on expanded responsibilities and report directly to the Board. The model will be in place for three years and reviewed for effectiveness thereafter.
