Container lines calling at southern China’s Yantian International Container Terminal (YICT) are facing a surge in pilotage fees which took effect January 1. The addition of this compulsory pilotage service is expected to cost container lines calling at YICT approximately HK$400 million (USD $51.4 million) a year.
