The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has advised that the Portside Blundell Road Improvement Project has been put on hold due to “a significant funding gap and extended partner negotiations that have put the project at considerable risk.” With project costs now more than double the original estimate, the port authority is reviewing the strategy to deliver the project or a component of it. This project would support trade-enabling development in the Fraser Richmond industrial lands.  As a result of pausing the project, the Gateway Infrastructure Fee 2 will be adjusted accordingly and further details regarding the 2023 fees collected will be provided in due course.
