A Royal Canadian Air Force crew from 19 Wing Comox teamed up with the US Coast Guard to perform two urgent medical evacuations from the Ruby Princess off Washington State. A CH-149 Cormorant helicopter hoisted a 52-year-old woman in cardiac arrest and transported her to Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, while a US Coast Guard Dolphin helicopter airlifted a 99-year-old man with an esophageal blockage to Neah Bay for transfer to a Life Flight aircraft. The coordinated response also involved a Canadian CC-295 Kingfisher and support from the Canadian Coast Guard, underscoring seamless cross-border cooperation in high-risk offshore rescues.
