On March 8, the Government of Canada appointed Caroline Healey as the new Administrator of Ship and Rail Compensation Canada, effective March 31, 2025. She will succeed Mark Gauthier, who is retiring after serving as Administrator since April 2023. Gauthier played a key role in modernizing the organization, overseeing its rebranding and website launch, strengthening the Rail Fund with agreements to facilitate claims, and managing a record number of claims for the Ship Fund. Healey’s appointment marks the next phase for the organization as it continues to support Canadians through its compensation programs.
