Three shipowners, Wah Kwong, Veer Voyage, and North Star Shipping, have embraced the challenge presented by the Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association (ZESTA) to achieve absolute zero emissions. While some shipping companies have committed to carbon neutrality, aiming for absolute zero emissions by 2043 represents a more significant leap. ZESTA is calling on other industry players to join in this effort. The shipowners will discuss their green goals at the ShipZERO28 event during London International Shipping Week. Unlike net zero emissions, absolute zero implies eliminating emissions without relying on offsets or carbon capture. The urgency of addressing climate change is emphasized by industry leaders like Hing Chao and Danielle Southcott, as they advocate for decisive action.
