In response to calls for more effective border and port security, Transport Canada has launched consultations on Expanding Transportation Security Clearance Requirements to Additional Port and Marine Facility Employees as required under the Marine Transportation Security Regulations. Transport Canada is seeking feedback on expanding the security clearance requirements beyond the limited number of employees at marine facilities that require clearances today. The consultations run through to March 31st.
