Trigon Pacific Terminals has made a Final Investment Decision (FID) on a $750 million open-access LPG export terminal in Prince Rupert, BC, with operations expected to begin by late 2029. The 2.5 million MTPA facility, supported by the Lax Kw’alaams and Metlakatla First Nations, aims to boost Canada’s energy export capacity and global competitiveness. Backed by Alberta and aligned with federal priorities, the project promises Indigenous economic participation, stronger trade ties with Asia, and relief from export bottlenecks. Regulatory approvals and long-lead procurement are underway.
