The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) is expanding its scope to include hydrogen energy carrier chemistries, welcoming Trigon Pacific Terminals Ltd. as a new member. Trigon joins the ranks of other CIAC members already active in the hydrogen energy value chain, highlighting the Canadian chemistry sector’s central role in the emerging hydrogen economy. This expansion aligns with the industry’s ambitions towards achieving a low carbon economy and underscores CIAC’s commitment to advocacy and Responsible Care® standards for safe and responsible manufacturing and distribution. Trigon, partly owned by the Lax Kw’alaams and Metlakatla, operates at the Port of Prince Rupert and is steering towards becoming a low-carbon energy export hub through its Berth Two Beyond Carbon project.
