U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright has granted final approval for LNG exports from Port Arthur LNG Phase II in Texas to non-FTA countries — the first such authorization under the Trump administration, ending a previous pause. The Sempra Energy-owned project will export up to 1.91 Bcf/d, expanding on Phase I, which is under construction. The decision brings total approved LNG exports under the current administration to 11.45 Bcf/d and reinforces the administration’s push to restore the U.S. as a top global energy supplier.
