The US became the first country to export 10.1 million metric tonnes (mmt) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in a single month, according to LSEG data, surpassing September’s 9.1 mmt. The record was driven by ramp-ups at Venture Global’s Plaquemines plant (2.2 mmt) and Cheniere’s Corpus Christi facility (1.6 mmt), while Sabine Pass exported 2.6 mmt. Together, Venture Global and Cheniere accounted for 72% of total exports. Europe remained the top buyer, taking 6.9 mmt, or nearly 70% of US LNG shipments, as the region builds winter reserves.
