The World Shipping Council (WSC) has introduced a new whale chart, the first comprehensive global map of mandatory and voluntary measures aiming to prevent ship strikes on whales. These collisions pose a significant threat to whale populations worldwide, especially in areas where there is an overlap between whale activity and vessel traffic. The chart is available for free. It offers critical navigational coordinates and concise graphics to aid seafarers in identifying routing measures and areas subject to speed restrictions.
